Eve
Eve
Eve—
Before there was shame,
There was wonder.
Before the fall,
There was light—
Soft, holy, whole.
She walked with God in the cool of the day,
Barefoot on sacred ground,
Heart unafraid.
Formed in beauty,
For communion with her maker.
Dust kissed by divinity,
A reflection of his imagination.
The mother of all living,
The breath of heaven in human form,
The first to feel sunlight on skin,
The echo of beauty preceding brokenness.
She was never a mistake to be fixed,
But a redemptive word to be written.
And though the story bent towards chaos,
Mercy bends lower still.
Even in the fall,
Love covers.
Even in exile,
He walks with her.
Even in thorns,
Grace grows wild.
